One Maroon beat the other one up - What to do

Bought two small Maroons, they had been together in the store, seemed to be pairing.

Put them alone in an established 20 gallon. Slightly larger one started to really bug the smaller one. A week in, he really started to go to town on him, always chasing him into corner, biting at him, etc.

Got real bad Sunday night.. the smaller fish looked like fins were real beat up, and he was vertically in top corner. Breathing was fine, just shimmying back and forth. First time he would not eat.

Decide to pull him out, and put him in an aerated and heated 20 gallon bucket on Sunday night. Took me till Monday afternoon to get a 10 gallon IM fusion set up with established sand and rock, as well as established bio media from another tank.

I now see him right pec fin is quite beat up, looks like maybe 1/2 missing, and he does not move it much. He is sitting behind a rock, shimmying back and forth, breathing fine.

What to do? Should I treat him for bacterial issues or fin rot, as this might be the issue brought on by his ordeal? Or if he is just chilling, let him sit back there and recover? Treat with anything else? A dip of some sort? Not looking to do something if there is no need, but don't now what I don't know, and not sure how to try to help him back to health.

And should I just not bug him (like pushing him out of back of tank), trying to get him to eat? He ate well on Friday and Saturday... Sunday and Monday were first days without food.

Use some melafix to heal the fins.
Don't push him or bother him.
Let him come out on his own.
Add some garlic extract oil to his food to maybe help entice to eat
