One More Time With My 135g

This 135g tank has been sitting with no corals or fish for about 3 years, with only the rock and a Tunze pump (topped-off with tap water). It cleaned-up nicely, and it’s great to be re-starting pest-free. My goal this time around is to build something relatively low-maintenance and without all the expensive bells and whistles. Mostly LPS and some easy/forgiving SPS, maintained via water changes and 2-part dosing.

Interesting. Just tested nitrates (100+) and phosphates (0.5) for the first time in a long time, but despite the high levels, there's not a speck of algae on the rocks.

Hmmm, interesting. Phosphates are really only a tad high. But, the nitrates over 100??? I'd be tempted to test again with a different test kit to make sure the one you used is accurate.

Might be everything that’s breaking down over the years. Definitely high, but nothing a few (perhaps a lot) of water changes can’t handle.

Yes, I have no worries about getting the levels down, I was just surprised at how high they are given how clean the rocks are.
