Hello guys, a single polyp of my meteor shower coral died (please see pictures). As you can see in the pictures, it is more clear under non-actinic light. The area just around the polyp bleached and the tissue looks swelled up. Rest of the coral looks fine and actually it has been growing rapidly since I got it (typical of these corals).
I must say that I have a flame angelfish and it once ripped the quarter of a budding duncan coral, so it is a suspect. Eventually duncan healed up and as far as I see, it shows no interest to the meteor shower coral, duncan coral or any other coral
Do you have any idea what might have caused the death of this one poly. Is it a disease or just a physical injury? Do I need to do anything or will it heal on its own. I suspect that poly is dead, but will tissue still grow over that area or will it remain as a bald spot?
Thanks for the help guys!!
