One twisted rose

My rose bubble in my 14BC keeps twisting himself into knots. he is about 6" round with a 4-5" stalk. yeah, he gets feed  anyway, at least once a week he ties himself in a knot, not literally, but looks like it.

question: anyone's anemone do this? or do I just have that 1:1,000,000 weird one?

I knew that was coming lol

Looks like its really reaching for light. I know it can move if it wants more but when is the last time you changed your bulbs and what lights are you using?

non modified BC14, so 2 coralife PCs. he has been in this tank for approx. 5 months, i got him when he was roughly 2.5" round, he has at least doubled in size since i got him. his head sits roughly 2" from the light

Is there a laminar current pushing it into that shape? If so, re-adjusting the powerhead output might help or getting a wide output powerhead like a koralia might also work.

I am not here like everyone else to say you cant keep one under pcs my friend has had some under pcs for over two years. It just looks like yours is really stretching. You never answered how old your bulbs are and I agree flow is twisting it.

oh, sorry, the tank is about 8 months old, so yeah 8 month old PC lights.....come to think about it, maybe its time to change them....

and the only current in the tank is the output from the built in pump

Not weird at all, happens often.
Many times they just get spun by current.
I used to unwind my crispa and BTA's all the time

They're just being spun by the current while fully extended.
I'm not sure if it hurts the nem or not, but by the way it's protruded it's tentacles, it looks perfectly happy to me.

Great picture, unusual but good catch!

just a suggestion, but you should try one of the cheap aquatraders t5ho lights... i just put one on my 29BC and it hasnt looked happier since ive owned it, its so bubbly that its kinda perverted, lol
