Possibly THE only type of corals i can't grow. I've gotten a bunch, they'll be fat and healthy for a day or two then they shrink, they start to die, they become to get a brown film on them.

Low flow and low light
after a few months of losing one, i tried it again, i went and grabbed 3, lost 2 but the last one seems dot have lasted longer. it was in my tank for probably a week and it did the same thing.

I'm growing sps, acros, scolys, etc. but i can't seem to grasp scans

debating if i should try it once more or no.
Wondering what the cause of their deaths are..

Lol, I too have the same problem in my main tank, but my remotes are fine. Same water so that led me to believe it's my BB high flow high light.

Acans grow like weeds in my tank. It's the one coral I could literally just throw in my tank and they'd be happy upside down in the sand..

Light, flow, stinging corals, cut irritating them, and coral engaging in chemical warfare could be the cause. If you have confirmed those are not issues you may want to try feeding each head a few pellets a few times a week. I ultimately had to stop feeding my because they grew so much.

Acans are really touchy to low alkalinity, white LED light and very low flow. Could be the latter, but from your description my guess is you have a whiter lighting spectrum that they're not a fan of.

besides my chevron developing a taste for acans and eating most of them, what you're saying is true I believe

I had my acans in lower light and lower flow. Did ok, but colors lacked and never puffed up. I moved them higher to a frag rack, off to the side and being indirect to white lighting now and now they're huge. They are in more direct random flow, and sitting under more blue and purple LEDs, I got one of those cheap eBay par 30 full spectrum bulbs to experiment, and soldered in a whole bunch of RB and purple. They've got tremendous intense color now. It's insane. My rainbow acans are taking on colors I've never seen them having before, like they're morphing colors.

I just now got a Kessil ap700, as a wonderful light, i'm going to retry the acan thing one more time.

Are acans very sensitive or something? I feel liked it died due to me moving it around the tank too much or something.
