Only Feeding Pellets?

Mr. Fish

I have been feeding my fish New Life Spectrum Thera-A pellets everyday and nori every couple of days. Is there a problem with only feeding them the pellets and stopping the nori? It says on New Life Spectrum's web site that the food is perfectly balanced and feeding other things actually mess with that balance. You can see the fish I have in my signature.

Thanks

"perfectly balanced and feeding other things actually mess that up"

lol of course they would say that.... they want you to buy their product and only theirs.

Time and time again you'll see aquarium hobbyist feeding many different things to changed up what they eat.

i feed my fish NLS pellets, Rods reef food, PE mysis and algae sheets on random different days.

Since you have a tang, keep feeding the Nori.

imagine eating ONLY beans the rest of your life...it'll keep you alive but boy will you hate that.

I use the same spectrum pellets and not much else . Been doing it for years and works great for me. I save big bucks w/ no issues.

I use the "regular" NLS pellet and IMO/IME it's probably the best single food one could use. NLS also offers coral foods. These are all most excellent IMO.

It's still good to mix in some other foods every now and then, though.
4 out of 5 Duncans still prefer krill :D

My dog really likes it when I sneak in something new. I have many fish that don't respond to the same foods. If they all eat it... its rare. With Tangs they need all the right foods ie nori, mysis, and even pellet as a suppliment. A little Selcon, too.

I would switch it up your fish and corals will like variety in food. Almost every fish in my tank eats julian spring sea vegies the red algae, they love it.

I try to feed my fish many different types of food: Pellets, PE mysis, formula 1 and 2 cubes, angel formula, emerald entree, reef plakton, oyster feast, red, purple, green and brown nori as well. Half of my freezer is all fish food...

I feed a mix of goodies. Frozen, dry, pellet, and flake. NLS, Formula 1 and 2, Rods, Mysis, Nori, etc. I think a wide and varied diet is key to keeping healthy fish (and other creatures). And beyond general heath I believe it helps stress and aggression, which really is all the same thing.

My freezer is also full of fish food haha...I feed mostly NLS pellets but I like tossing some interesting stuff in there for them once in a while. I'm not sure the fish really care but I get satisfaction from knowing that I'm taking good care of them at least.
