I might sound stupid but my puffer is hanging by my live rock. It almost looks like he is laying on it and sleeping. Could he possibly be sleeping?? I have checked my water and everything is good.

what kinda puffer do you have i have 2. a black dogface who sleeps on the rocks with his tail curled up by his side also i have a some kinda sand puffet that 1/2 way burries himself and sleeps there . but my guess would be just sleeping . does he come out and is he acting heathy and eating fine ?

Being primarily nocturnal, puffers will slouch in the daytime hours (but can get really active when they think they are going to be fed). Unless signs tell you otherwise, it is normal behavior.

I have a porquipine puffer. I have only had him for 5 days. I feed him shrimp but I still have not seen him go towards the food immediatly. He usually just wanders around and might eat if food is in his way. But he does kinda sit on the rock and bend his tail. But he is really not exited about eating. Does he need time to adjust to the tank??

Keep trying, maybe some live foods, too. That will definitely get its attention. If it continues to refuse food for a long time and gets thinner, etc, I would look toward internal parasites. Generally there are outward signs as well, such as cloudy eyes.
