If your lucky you might find a local LFS bringing in some true percs with "onxy colors" & those will be your avarage perc prices. Usually if you purchase them as "onyx" your going to pay double & up & risk the WC's getting brook & internal parasites.
Rods onyx at $50 each is a steal, you get the amazing onxy color & they are tank raised so no QT needed & no risks of nasty things comming in on your fish.
Allright guys thanks for convincing me. So if I got 2 as babies, they would pair up in a few years right? And Dekalb is an hour and a half...Would you guys reccomend shipping? Otherwise it is possible to go down to get them...
mine paired up in the bag
dont ship go down see the parents meet rod and pick out your own i wish i could have done that
you will end up with nicer fish and dont have to spend 58 bucks for shipping
There have been pairs formed out of the babies. It is not a gurantee. Rod would be able to tell you more about it. Rod is about an hour and 15 minutes from me. I will drive there just to get the food. Rod does do shipping, and I'm sure he will package them really well. However, it is more stressful on the fish. I personally would drive the hour and a half to go pick them up. Just make sure you call first, Rod is in and out a lot.

As far as pairing get one smaller and one larger one. Mine were close to the same size and at first they stayed together like a pair but fighting broke out for a bit till one became dominate and became the female.. Also this is normal when they form pairs. Getting two different sized ones will make this go much faster.
