It's impossible to tell when onyx clowns will get their full color if at all. It depends on their lineage, food, light, host, and environment. Each individual is different.
I've seen anywhere from 8months fully colored to 3 years with partially black.
Nice gigantea btw.

my female has gone completely onxy in about 1.5 years. My male is not completely there yet. I got them when they were babies. I orignally had them in a BTA, when I changed to a sebae they drastically gained their black and now they are in a gig.

You are not going to be able to tell what color they will ultimately become until at least two years of age and even then might be too soon.

onyx do take a while to color up. food does play a big part in coloring them up. get some good frozen mysis or a good blend of seafood. in my area i have a lady who makes her own food and its really awesome stuff. it has everything. my onyx have really colored up their orand and the black got darker. my snowflake female i have was a pale yellow and now she has gotten darker and she is beautiful even more than before.

I feed my fish prime reef flakes. Dont know why flake food gets such a bad rep...my fish devour it and I never have nitrate or phosphate problems

They do take a while to color up. Feed them a good quality food, or make your own. Chop up raw seafood from the grocery store and feed it to them with a turkey baster.

Shrimp, squid, scallop, nori, clam, and tuna. When I made the food this time I put baby brine and cyclopeeze in it too. The fish go absolutely nuts for it. Plus, corals get to eat the small pieces too.

Onyx refers to a true percula that has black between all three stripes. Some argue the amount of black after that, but that is a different discussion. So to me a true perc is not an onyx until it has reached that color pattern. There are lineages of percs that produce offsprings (at least a high percentage) that become onyx and those may take 1 1/2 years until they fully color up. Some may never reach that even with proper food.
