Kerusso316, Is there anyway to judge if a percula is wild caught vs tank raised, if it wasnt indicated at the time of purchase?

My percula, Dec. 2008, fish is a bit out of focus because I was taking a picture of the anemone, and she came over to see what I was doing.

A clearer picture of her from March 2008.

The reason I asked if you could tell wc vs tr is I had assumed she was wc, but she has some defects that I wouldnt expect to have allowed her to survive in the wild. She is missing her right pelvic fin, and there is a crease/curled gill cover on the right side of her head that is difficult to make out in pictures because its in the collar stripe.

I cant tell Wc from TR.There are people that say they they can.Horse Hocky. Their are however Very few(one) people raising true percs .There are a hand full raising Onyx....Contrary to pop opinion.. There are no onyx that spawn 100%.You end up with a % of True perc and a % of Orange Percs. That is the nature of things.I would never buy a Young Quote Onyx....Because its like a box of chocolates.......pelvic fin ripping by the dominate female will ensure a fish will never grow up to challenge the her. This is standard practice in the wild. Gill flare is also a natural defect in WC as well as TR.It will affect survivability only if it is drastic.I would be proud to own that fish....Very Nice belly...give her the nicest Onyx male you can afford. Most of the color comes from the male.So get to it.
