Oolite. Anyone Using It?

Is anyone using Oolite substrate and if so how do you like it?

I like it.. I dont have much to compare it to. I used crushed gravel before this.

How many of your tanks have oolite?

Just the main one. The rest are bare bottom.

I just purchased a 50. My current DT is a 29 which I want to make my sump. I don't want to use any of my current LS and I hope that when I make the transformation my LR will seed my oolite. What do you think?

I have it in my sps tank. Wished I went with the CaribSea Special Grade. The oolite blows all around the tank because of the high flow I have to have for an sps tank.

Just a name for very fine sand ... some would argue that a little larger sand granule may be better. In general .. the finer the sand the greater the chance that you may have "flying sand" until the tank matures.
