Theres a photo of what it looked like two weeks ago. It started to get the white, so I moved it. It hasnt puffed up in a week and looks like it is getting more white just on the one side. Any help would be appreciated. I run 6 t-5's 8 hours a day. All my others corals are doing great. Parameters are all good last week when i checked. I will test again this weekend.

What's your temperature running? My brain did the same thing and the only thing I could attribute it to was a temperature spike. It stayed that way for many months and it was only when I started dosing Strontium that the color returned.

Well, I'm not saying that's what did it ... just saying I had the same issue and the only think I could link it to was temp spike so it "could" be that. When was the last time you changed your bulbs? Could be bulbs going too.

Im in the process of changing bulbs. I had tru lumen bulbs and just ordered ati. Im switching one bulb a week. Just put the first one in 3 days ago

mag and cal is some what high .. mag should be around 1400 or lower cal should be lower then 500 like around 460 .. need to bring them down but slowly dont want to shock the corals .. brains are not happy with high mag and cal ..

water changes .. what size is your tank .. the wellso you see in my avatar i have had 2 years started out about the size of a half dollar .. n i can try and help you the best i can with her .. as long as her flesh is not ripping away you can get control of it ..

Its a 90 gallon. I do a 10 gallon water change every sunday. The flesh is ripping away and its sweeper tentacles come out every night and eats well

ouch same salt mix i use and yes it will bring your mag and cal up .. i did this on my 120 when my mag and cal got high and it worked and brought it back down .. do small water changes each day 1 gallon for 1 week .. it will drop it slow . do your change 1 hour before your lights cycle off ... n retest in a week and see where your at .. with my 120 i averaged it out to see what effects it had and by my guess i was removing .25PPM each day doing it this way .. just the key is dont let your salt go below 1.026 either and the rest will be fine .. you want to do this as slow as poss to avoid stress of your corals and fish ..

Not to dispute the high mg thing but I used high mag for quite a few weeks a while back with no ill affects on my open brain. I did allmost lose mine a month ago however and it was on the sand like yours is. I got it up off the sand and within a week it turned around. It also responded very well to xtra feedings when it was going through its rough time.

I placed mine in a 3 inch pvs fitting as it had a cone shaped rock it is attached to I couldnt just set it on a rock. It is setting about 3 inches off the sand bed now and is doing great.

put the coral in super super low light. I mean like under a rock ledge. You will be surprised how the color intensifies. I have had this type of coral in very low light conditions under a rock ledge for six months and it was never healthier or more colorful IMO these corals receive way to much light, generally speaking, in home aquariums.

I did the gallon a day water changes and didnt see a lot of difference. I then moved it under a rock ledge and it puffed up extremely quick and has started to regain its color in that spot. I guess it was just getting too much light. It seems extremely happy now!!!! Thanks to all for the advice
