Open brain spit food out!!!!

I have an open brain and feed it a small peice of shrimp this morning which HE quickly devoured. Well we were having scallops for dinner and took a peice of UNCOOKED scallop and put in the open brain. HE quickly devoured it and then opened back up and spit it out. ANY IDEAS??

sometimes brains dont like large amounts of food. meaning both in size of the food being fed and the quantity you feed. try him with some mysis at first.
