Opening and closing

I just bought a toadstool or umbrella leather coral yesterday and it keeps extending and contracting its polyps constantly. Is this normal? Also when I bought him his neck was white and now it is a light brown, is it okay?

This is normal for leathers. Just getting comfortable in the new tank conditions.
