So my tank has been finished with its cycle for about a week now, I did a 30% water change the day after my nitrites and ammonia read 0 and after my nitrates spiked to 20 ppm. Since the water change has dwindled down to between 0 and 5ppm (really hard to see the difference in yellows with the API test kit) Since the water change i added back my 3 hermits and 1 turbo, I bought 3 more hermits and 2 more turbos to help clean up some of the algae on the rocks and glass. I also bought two Nassirus Snails ( which barely come up out of the sand ) and a peppermint shrimp to help clean detritus. I also got a skunk cleaner shrimp. Which has already set up shop near the pregnant peppermint shrimp. Both are getting along well and are eating very well.
the only thing i have been worried about is my kh, it seems really high. Currently my parameters are holding steady at
ph 8
kh 10
ammonia 0
nitrite 0
nitrate <5
The clean up crew all seem happy. My hermits have been all molting successfully
Except for one which I thought was dead and I flushed him so currently in my Fluval 13.5 i have
5 hermits
3 turbo snails
2 nassirus snails
1 pregnant peppermint shrimp
1 skunk cleaner shrimp
Is the bio load to much as i want to add a pair of clowns and later on corals?
