Opinions needed

When my new stand is done i`m planning on making a sump/refugium. What i`m attempting to find out is what opinions are on what tank I should use. I have 2 tanks, one is a 20g long and the other is a regular 29g.

Well how much room do you have to spare in the stand? If it can take the added height I'd go with the 29gal. The footprints of the tanks are the same, so it's all about the height your stand can take.

I always use the biggest sump that will fit in my tank and work for what I need it for. I have a 72 bowfront with a stock stand. I actually had to break out a brace and replace it to fit my 29 in the stand, but I'm really glad I did, and would do it again.

29s are taller and can make it hard to reach in. 20gLs are what you need as they are short and long. Short is good for access and length allows you to stage in sections ei: 1.) return/settling area 2.) refugium 3.) miixng area (optional) 4.) return to tank. Length gives you more space to have those options.

Bigger is better - I second the Cloakerpoker's opinion. Assuming that the space does allow for good access. Nothing is more frustrating that not being able to work in the sump area due to space limitations. I use a 29 - but I build the stand knowing to allow for a higher sump.
