Picked up two heads of a hammer little while back. One of the heads has retracted I'm pretty sure it's done for but would like some opinons on what y'all think

p 8.2
ammonia 0ppm
nitrite 0ppm
nitrate 20 ppm
calcium 440

Don't have an all test but will pick one up soon

You could either give it a day or 2 to see if things get better or cut the bad head off the coral in case whatever infected the branch doesn't spread to the healthy one

My recent frag did this too. I took it down to the sand bed and it got better. It may need some time to acclimate to the light.

i had one in QT doing the same thing. 2 heads on one side were fully opened up, one on the other closed. Was initially on the bottom egg crate in my qt and made a small shelf to put it up closer to the lights, i'd say in the upper 1/3 of the tank. Ever since, all 3 heads have been doing great. try moving to different flow and lighting areas every few days or so until it's happy.

It's not getting a lot of flow it gently sways in the current. Placed about half way up in the tank. It seemed happy for the month that I've had it.
