I have a 125g mixed reef with 2 20g sumps. The tank has been running for 2 years. Currently the only fish is a blue tang. I just want to see if anyone sees any issues with my stock list.

yellow clown goby
2 percula clowns
firefish
sailfin algae blenny
royal gramma
4 lyretail anthias
yellow eye kole tang (dont have to have)

Opinions welcome. Thanks

I would like to have a pair of firefish. How do you go about doing this? Do you have to buy a pair thats mated already? Do they change sex if you just buy small ones?

make sure you have a lid with firefish, they are known to jump. Sailfin blennies are fairly hardy and easy to keep. A member here did a write up on them in a post earlier today I just read, let me find it....they are reef safe

Thanks. My tank has an enclosed canopy so jumping shouldnt be an issue.

Anyone have advice on multiple firefish?

From what I've read the males seem to be slightly larger and rounder while the females are narrower, unlike clownfish they will not change sex. If you don't have a pair you will eventually lose one of them as they get older (they're fine when they're juvis, I have two juvis in my tank now).

No, they do not change sex. The only way I know of, and it is NOT reliable, is to observe the 40 gallon breeder with a group at your LFS and look for a pair that "hangs together". I know of no way to physically sex them.
