Hi would I be able to keep an opsanus beta with my two Scorpaenopsis diabolus?

All are about 5" at the moment. The Scorpaenopsis diabolus are in a tank full of LR.

What size tank is needed when they are mature?

Thank you

I kept my toadfish alone, so I don't know from experience. I would guess if you keep them well fed and they stay similar sized as they grow (or at least the toadfish doesn't get a lot larger than the Inimicus) it will be okay. I think they all get about 8-12" as adults. they are not that active, but they need floor space to move around.

I'd keep them in at least a 75, better a 100 gallon tank. I'd have some midwater tankmates as well, to add some interest.

Many thanks. I have a stonefish that lives on his own so maybe best keep the scorpaenopsis diabolus alone as well and set up another tank for the Opsanus Beta.

Think you are right with a few midwater swimmers. There was a gorgeous male blue throat trigger at my LFS so who knows!!

I had my O beta with a waspfish for a while. The waspfish was about 2/3 to 3/4 the length of the toadfish, and they never seemed to have a problem. So I do think it would probably be a safe bet as far as not trying to eat the Inimicus. However, toadfish are very aggressive feeders, and may outcompete the devilfish for food, stressing them that way.

If you have the room for another tank, I think a single tank for the toadfish would be best.

Oh, I thought the question was toadfish with Inimicus. I wasn't suggesting the stonefish be kept with anything else!

Think Billsreef thought that I had stonefish with others.

He is defintely on his own and will remain so. He is about 11" and awesome.

Cheers Lisa I think the Toadfish on his own is the way ahead
