Optic sensor problems

I have a Tunze 5017 with osmolator. My water level falls to low and not refilling. I can lower or lift optic sensor in and out of water and nothing happens. When I unplug then plug unit it will run for maybe a minute or so but not enough to reach sensor. I also have occasional problems when too much water has been pumped into tank above optic sensor and tank over kalked.

Tunze use to work well but this problem seems to be happening alot and now I cannot trust it and scared to kalk. But more often water level below sensor.

Can this be fixed?
Thanks for help
Eddie

Yes, the cause is either the optic sensor itself or a faulty capacitor that powers the optic sensor. I would first check that the optic sensor does not have any film of calcium deposits or salt. If so soak it in vinegar. It has a two year warranty, if it is less than 2 years old it will be repaired/replaced under warranty.

Send it in, I may be able to repair it, if not I will offer you a discounted replacement-

osmolator not working

I sent my unit in several months ago and you checked it out and you sent me another power source to use. My unit initially worked great for about a month but currently not working properly.
The optic eye seems to not be working. Water level falls below sensor and does not shut off when water level above sensor. Also when water level below sensor the red "too low" light comes flashing on.
My question is should I send it in or replace it.
Thank you,
Eddie
