Optical Level Fastener and LEDs

Hey guys,

I just got all my profilux gear through Cherry Corals. I haven't had the time to set anything up yet but I've gone over it all and it looks pretty cool!! I have a couple of questions though.

I couldn't quite understand how the optical level fastener works. Could sombody please post a picture of how it looks all installed?

Also, my profilux is located in the garage ~30 feet away from my display tank. In the future I would like to add some of the SimuLED lights for sunrise etc. How long is the cable for the 1-10V interface? Would it be any issue to extend the cables manually?

I'm sure I will have many more questions once I find the time to set it up!

ok, what I got looks purely like the small black piece directly connected to the probe. I don't have that clear rod or the T shaped bracket thats on the top. Was I supposed to get that with the kit, or do I need to buy something else???

ok I see from your products page that I need the GHL Water Level Sensor Bar Assy. I didn't realize I needed that in addition to the optical fastener.

Yes you need the bar to go with the fastner cherry should have them in stock, if not I will sort out with Todd to drop from us to you

No, I got a Profilux Plus II EX unit by itself and then added parts individually since it came out more to get the packages and then what I needed.

Oh then yes you do need to order one, this is whwere sometimes the pre made kits work out a better options but no big deal Todd will have you running in no time

Do you know when you might have some of the Simu spot or simu stick LEDs in? I can wait and order them at the same time.

My tank is 72" long. Would a single Simu-stick be sufficient? I want mainly sunrise/sunset and moonlight. Is the Profilux Simu-L Stick the right one that does both?

Would I need many spot LEDs to get the same even spread of light?

Ryan, the Simu-L is the one you want. Sunrise/sunset, moonlight and lightening all in one stick. I haven't used a spot yet but I can say that the sticks have LED's along the entire length of the stick so they have a good spread.

I have 6 coming that should be here in a few weeks. I quickly sold out of the 5 I just received.

Ryan for 7' you would need two simu-L sticks, they are 55cm long and come with "p" clip fasteners.

We have also seen good effects with the spots, with one placed either end of the tank aimed to make a centre focus point, this has two effects, it provides a natural intensed area just like the moon would do, and refracts the light nicelys and with the storm effect it bounces well.

But it all comes down to personal taste, the sticks give a great even spread just like Todd states.
