ORA Bellina

hey guys, i have a question for you all who have experience with this coral... i have what i believe to be a bellina as it looks very similiar to the photo ORA has on their site IMO.. the polyps, the corralites, and the tips... however, mine seems to have a light, almost whitish base color... anyone else have this or have any opinions on this? i am interested in actually id'ing the only coral i have without an id... i do know the person where this came from, who the LFS store i got mine from got theirs but didnt have an id for it, i know he collects ORA peices in general...

here is a pic...

It looks like the same species but not the Bellina. I have that one as well. Mine was baby blue with dark blue tips but turned white w/ blue tips and darker polyps :(

You are right, it is very touchy. Hardest ORA coral to keep IMO, even harder than the hawkins. On top of that, as soon as the mini colony is snipped, you can bet your wallet on this coral browning out. Put it in really high flow and high lighting. I think it is an acropora horrida.

IMO Hawkins is pretty easy to keep.

I've got the same one. I think its an A. Desalwii. IMO it looks nicer than the Bellina because of the white base but it has the same green polyps and purple tips like the Bellina.

I have this Bellina from a 1.5" frag over 9 months ago. It is a slow grower. Over 9 months period, I have a few corals died due to various reasons but it still remains fine.
