ORA Brown Planet

Sadly my RP has been hit by STN pretty bad. I hope some of it will survive. It was doing really good too growing and coloring up.

you've achieved such great color and your progression shots are awesome. I hope mine will look like this one day

Hey guys, I just sold this RP so there will not be any more updates to this thread. Thanks everyone who joined in here to watch it grow!

NNNOOOOOOoooooooo. Why would you sell such a sweet looking RD that was doing so well for you. You should have at least kept a frag to grow out.

I really just wanted to try growing some SPS because I kept reading about how challenging it was and I wanted to see if I could do it. Now I'm working on some other projects that demand a lot of my time so I need to transition this reef tank to something a bit lower maintenance. I might even end up doing a macro algae tank so I don't have to change the water so much!

Maybe in a few years I'll have more free time and will set up an all sps tank, because it really is a rewarding experience to keep sps corals.

that stinks you arent going to do sps anymore but at least u know you can successfully come back to it down the road. gl to u.

i have this same coral, but instead of it being green at the base, it's a sort of light brown/ yellowy color with very slight red tint (more like brown). One area, where it is growing out is starting to turn green.

Do you thing its getting too much or too little light? its 25" away from a 250watt de mh in a parabolic reflector. (with glass shield).

Strange to me when I hear people getting out of the SPS Or Reefing all together. As for me I should have gotten into something less addictive like crack or herion:rolleye1:

Certainly from someone in Tampa! The Tampa club only has a few hundred active memebers! Thanks for putting this together/sharing:thumbsup:

I'd like to see this thread come alive again. I was sold this frag as a red planet. It certainly shares some of the characteristics. It has a fair red tint but really is quit brown. A little of the green can be seen when there is more actinic lighting. I will have had it a week this Wednesday. It is lit by DIY CREE RB and CW LED's. Currently the RB are at 65% and the CW are at 35% max.
Originally had the RB at 100% but began bleaching some corals.

Allsps40,
I think I have more room to receive some from you! Get those corals growing so you can send me some frags. I got some family and friends in Az, so they can transport the frags to me😏
