ORA Chips no PE?!?

I have a small frag(3/4 in) of a ORA Chips arco 1 month now, it is high in my tank under a 400W 14k Hamilton and Mod flow at the moment.

My problem is no PE on this frag, I have great PE on all my other corals but just can't seem to find the "Sweet spot" for this coral tried low and high flow, and low under med flow.
The coral looks good color wise and has encrusted, just no PE day OR night!

The other side of the tank is a 250w 10k (changing to a hammy 14k Fri)
and most the tank ranges from med to high flow via a VorTech and my return from sump.

All my water parameters are fine Cal 440 Alk 9.5 and everything else reads 0 across the board
Like I said I have great PE on all my other corals just not this one:confused:

Any tips, hints or help would be great!;)

Have you recently moved it? Reason I ask is I moved my frag, about the same size as yours actually and it took it a while to get comfortable with its new postion in the tank. FWIW mine is now fuzzier than ever!

Only other thing I can think of is there something irritating it? Any fish nipping at it?

I'd say if its still colorful etc I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Thanks Chris.
Yea I have tried several places in he tank trying to find that one place its happy, so maybe 4 or 5 times now I have moved it in a month.
Its just if I move something else its like hr's to a day at most till I see PE again.
No, no nippers in the tank 2 clowns a tang and a dottyback and a blenny

welli i have had some problems w/ mine too. mine was VERY hairly for a months..then recently it has showed little polyp extension. i have no SPS nipping fish and all other SPS look great. it can't be RB's as i treat for them when incoming and the frag is old w/ nothing added recently.

i have lowered feedings in an attempt to get rid of bryopsis. also using prodibio now and changing po4 media mor often...wonder if that would do it

My Chips grew so well that I fragged off a piece of it. For several weeks, the frag and mother colony had less polyp extension and seem ticked off. They are now coming back around. I just thought they were sensitive and slow to bouce back. I have both under 250W 14K lights about 12" under the water, 18" under the light. They get mild flow, not really in the path of the tunzes. I have noticed that low PH causes my Chips to close it's polyps and show very little PE. When I got the PH back up, it was PE to the max! Just about time to frag this puppy again :)

Whenever I move mine it takes a while for PE again. They do like high flow and I feed DT's Oyster eggs and Coral Vibrance...they seem to like those and extend well afterwards. GL

Thanks everyone,
My PH is 8.2 as of this AM Check so I will just let it be and see what happens over the next 3 to 4 weeks :)
