ORA frag plugs

Is it just me, or are these things practically indestructable. I tryed to cut the bottom off with my bone shears with no luck. I dont have any places on my reef that have a suitable "hole" to put these plugs in and I am wondering what my options are? I am debating about cutting the frags off of the plug and attaching directly to the live rock. These Frags are fully encrusted.

Does anyone have any ideas pertaining to specifically ORA frag plugs when attaching SPS corals? I would much rather have them on ceramic plugs but the black ORA plugs are just too cool lol. Any Ideas?

I hear you on those plastic plugs. I ended up placing it on a small flat board with the coral part hanging over the edge, and just using a little hacksaw too saw it off.

They should design those plugs so that the bottom can be plug part can be screwed on and off.

Just cut the coral off and mount it where you want, then grow out the plug and sell/trade it. Then you would still be able to prove it's ORA;)

Mevs, I think thats what I am going to do. The only thing is I dont have a dedicated frag tank, so I would have to keep the frag plug somewhere. Its a corner eshopps frag rack.

I have two new ORA corals that I havent tried before, A blue acro, not the tort, and I believe the really bright vivid green frogskin one. Not sure of the names.

I will let you know how it all works out. I would like to save the plugs if I could, they are really nice. I do have a hacksaw though... hmmm..

+1, I just bought a rack to get all the growing plugs out of the sand.

The leftover frags on the plugs actually seem to grow quicker than the snapped off portions for me.
