as soon as one drops i will they blend into the coral on the bottom but i am going to document and save the next one i hope they get blown right into my nen and he make short work of them.they are very small like the size of a pencil eraser a tiny bit smaller.i see everones pics hear and the polyps on mine are as long but much thicker and deeper red i wonder whymaybe just diff lighting and food cause mine is ora.mine also eats whole mysis now .it is so cool to watch them go down the polyp stalk like a snake eating a mouse.i will get a pic of that to in a month when i get the new camera my wife said she would get me after losing mine.i just have a crappy old cell that i cant load on comp

I bought a blue goni this weekend. The polyp are barely expanded. How many time should i wait until the polyp are going in full expension ?

I have had a red Goniopora (blue center polyps) for a couple years now, seems to like flow like a Frogspawn, moderate back and forth giration. From what I have researched, the red ones are more hardy & flexible with feeding. I deduct this based on only feeding the fish in my tank, nothing else in specific. I run T 5's on my 75gal.
thats awsome isnt so cool like a boa eating a mouse.i only assume goni's are real healthy when they eat like this .youre will drop babies soon if you keep pumping him he probably has a couple ready to drop they form on the edge and you cant tell till ready to drop.
time lelu thats all time and perfect conditions feed with oyterfeast and phyto till healthy then mashed mysis then whole mysis.goni and alve get testy and only open fully when happy.so if not for a week move him try another spot:fish1:
they charge their tips with neomocysts the tips will turn white.also they use chemical warfARe i had to move a bubble coral cause it wouldnt open once a did it opened fully so give atleast 3 inches they can reach.i am so glad we are having such success with these red ora's it is such a boost for the hobby especially being aquacultured i hope in the future everything is aquacultured and wild coral is left alone it can be done.

I'm not very confident about the addition product in a small aquarium
i totally understand just ask youre lfs to test iron i do not suggest ever doseing without testing first iron is a huge part of the photosythasis process so it is good to find out .my colors in my corals have never looked brighter after i started doseing and my first test the iron was allmost undetectable in my systems.if you do allot of water changes you most likly dont need it but it deppends on the iron content in the new water

Rainbow is a generic name so they really could be anything. I have a rainbow goni frag I just picked up, its green, brown, orange red.
Remember not all are easier to keep like the ora, some require allot of food and some like goniopora stokesi is still near impossible to keep.

+1 stick to ora you cannot go wrong im sure ora is aqua culture more kinds of goni just givem time.try alveopora they are just as easy.have you tried to chop up mysis and feed youre ora.they love it and the large amount of protien gets great growth and color.soak it in phyto and whatever else you are using remember phyto is a big part of there diet:thumbsup:
