I guess I'll share my experience but my ORA Target mandarin which I paid $60 + shipping from saltwaterfish.com isn't eating anything but pods. I put mysis in front of his face and even cyclopeeze but he literally swims over it with his body.

He will also not venture into a mandarin diner I made for him even though snails and crabs happily do. Getting frustrating.


I'm going to possibly try Ova next.

I lost my ORA mandarin a few months ago but the wild caught one that I bought from a fellow reefer a few years ago is nice and fat and eats frozen brine, frozen mysis, frozen cyclopeeze and newlife pellets.

My ORA mandarin pair were born October, 2009 and I purchased them August, 2010. They're still doing great. They still love the New Life Spectrum pellets and supplement with hunting pods. The female loves frozen mysis, but the male isn't a big fan and might take a bite but goes back to pellets and hunting. I got a picture or video of her trying to eat a mysis, I thought she was going to choke she's so tiny and she picked the biggest one she could find.
