Actually I believe ora did take corals from people who were allowed to to submit a name with their coral. Perhaps ORA will chime in with the origins of their green millepora. I don't know if they are still taking corals; I read about them taking corals for broodstock after the huricane in Fl many years ago.

a couple of friends of mine used to work at ora and my girlfried goes to school at harbor branch where ora is located. my buddy Chip named a coral after himself when he worked there. Hawkins is the last name of a friend of mine who is a previous emplyoee, he also has a coral. ora purchases wild piecies of coral and does a six month quarintine, then grows the coral out and the last thing they do is name it before they sell it. I have been to the facility and viewed the whole set up it is very impressive, top notch stuff.
