hey guys im from manasquan nj and new to this forum but not to the hobby.a year ago i got what was supposed to be a dead red goni from a friend.it was the size of a halfe of supper ball very small and it was covered in hair algea and only one piece of tentacle popping out.so i put it in a hang plastic container with with a mexican turbo to clean off the algea saftly and when it was done it was clean but no life at all or even skin on the coralite.i placed it in the back of my tank to add to the rock work as it couldnt hurt.about six months ago i upgraded to my 40 gallon and when i moved the rock i found that he had grown a couple of polyps.so i decided to place him on the sand in new tank .i have vho t5 lighting with 50 watts of led mix plenty of light .i have a hang on 4 gallon refugium with a dsb and cheato that grows very fast i trim once a week pluss more pods and zoo i can tell u .pluss i have grass shrimp in it wich i catch locally wich are allways gravid and addind to my zoo pluss a million snail we call them old man toe nails here i think u call them stomata.they broadcast spawn allmost every day.well this goni has grown to the point he has covered the dead skelloton and added 12 inch to his size.he even eats whole small mysis.i hear people dont see their goni's take food but mine totally does catches them and swallows with that purple eye.he has dropped two babies but my huge lta has eaten them .my question is has anyones goni done this and if so what did they do with the babies .im afraid to put them in my refugium they might get eaten and the current in my display blows them away.can u glue such a small one.if anyone is near were i live they can have then 2 more are getting ready to drop.i now no how it was that ora was able to aquaculture this strain they realy grow when happy.i have a old airstone skimmer wich i personally like over the other more afficiant skimmer because it skimms just the right amount for lps i think the other skimmers are better for sps imo.thanx for the future help.when i get a new camera pics will be comming soon this goni is so beatifull and when they are happy they fead on anything dont give up if youres .i dont no what i have that makes mine flourish just a combo of my own zooplankton from my fuge ,snails, and shrimp.decent lighting and lightly skimmed water but it is working for me to were he has doubled in size and had three babies.
