Good question Felipe- the R.Watermelon has been on the scene for a year and a half or more before the RP was introduced so kudos to Rommel- specific differences, I do not have the RP to compare so I do not know-anyone have both?

I have both, and the Red Planet has longer polyps, like a mille. My Rommels Watermelon which I got from you, TYVM, doesn't exhibit the same, they look like 2 different corals.

Mine has held its green very well. It seems when mIne grows towards the tips it kinda loses the dark green but will green back up after a little while

well its almost 3' probably more like 30" away from the light but i also have a 3' tank with the lights about 8" away from the water. but I am using the blueline 250 hqi 14k i think about to switch to a ushio 20k

Not sure what "High Quality" is, I have 6 bulb Tek. I recall seeing a colony of ORA's and it looked all red, I just have to find that pic again.

I don't have an ORA that doesn't grow fast. I have a green BN that started out about 2" and 9 months later it's the size of a softball. Not sure what they feed those things at ORA that gives them such great growth and nice color but I like it.

my green disapeared after a while and was just a pinkish skin. As soon as I got it, one branch grew WAY out. It grew maybe a third of an inch in a week... no lie... And it was just a white base and never colored to the green and the skin on the rest of it stayed pinkish. I went away for a week and when I came back, it was green again. It is getting even more green, even though I moved the tank to my dorm room. At one point, I thought it was high nutrients because my brother fed the tank when i was gone and I had a lOT of algae on the glass when I got home, but I'm not so sure anymore...

Well at least everyone still has their planets. I lost mine and a few other choice corals to a Brown Jelly event. Thank God it was not the whole tank. Will be looking for another planet soon.

What did he feed the tank?

when i moved my red planet closer to the light it turned a more bright pink and the green disappeared. its growing quite fast with 6 new branches growing about half an inch in a month......its definately tabling. i'll take new pics soon.

Is anyone running under a high quality T5 rig and having their Green fade?

I have had mine for three weeks in a 75g tank midway up with my 7 bulb constellation t5 fixture. It's still to early to tell but it's still super green. My mid-day bulbs are only on for 4 to 4.5 hours a day and I run ATI bulbs that have super PAR ratings.

Here's mine

On a side note, is that a red bug!!??
