there are different ways to frag Montipora but this one is going to be lifted off the rock it's attached to by it's base. (All of my corals are very "thick").
Prep isn't much. You'll need Aquamend putty (or similar) and superglue (gel works best). Locate an appropriate location on a rock in your aquarium to mount the coral. Pinch off a bit of putty and mix it up into a ball about the diameter of a quarter. Place some superglue gel on the top of the putty ball and the bottom of the putty ball. Press the coral onto the putty ball and press the puttyball/coral onto the predetermined appropriate location.
Make sure to leave room for the coral to grow.
