yellowslayer, if that is over priced, and I am not saying it is or isn't, where do you get your acans? I am about to take the jump and start collecting them and not sure where to get them from.

Thanks

They are all called orange crush. But I believe the one you want has a green center and orange base.

no where near 150... i paid 25 :)

Yea rainbows are pretty cheap normaly.:)

"Orange Crush" is a generic name used for A. Echinatas with orange tissue, as stated above the original OC has orange outer tissue with a bright green eye. I think Tyree's version of the OC is called "Agent Orange" =)

Ive always understood the OC to be the one with purple/brown eyes. Never knew agent orange to be termed as the orange crush either, just Tyree's Agent orange, albeit prettier IMO, not the OG OC ;)
Heres a dark shot of mine, the orange brilliantly glows in person :)

To be honest I don't think there is much if any of the OG OC left in circulation, most are knock-offs.

Either way any Orange Echinata is a winner IMO, even darker ones will eventually morph into brighter specimen with proper care. They are really cool corals, my last one was orange/green on one side of the colony and purple/blue on the other side =)

Ya, I havent done my research to even know where the first person to name one that came from, and how many were distributed and to whom. I got mine from Rob aka Jusreefin a few years back, I think you may know him :)
Any old salts have the lowdown on the history? Would be interesting to hear and have always wondered, even moreso with these threads and the recent flood.

Btw, I dont mean to keep bumpin heads but I really do believe that the OC is NOT an ech, but a subechinata. What throws me for a loop though is Verons description of them both. The skeletal pics match the OC imo, but when he describes echinatas he says they appear more fleshy in appearance:confused: While to me, and the three morphs I have of echinatas, they do not look more fleshy than the OC IMO, but more skeletal. And then he goes on to say how the echs show concentric folds while the subs do not, but in the pics of the subs everyone has concentric folds! And in the pic of the echs only 1 shows concentric folds!!
I dunno, guess it doesnt even matter, really

Nevermind! :D
Would still like to hear some history, if anyone knows though.

Rob's was an OG OC =)

I agree that there is definitely a difference between the OG OC and other echinatas, not sure if it is related to the region it was collected or if it was a subech.
