Orange digi not doing so good.

So about 4 days ago half of my orange digi started retracting while the other half had full extension. Does anyone know what could be causing this?

too much of one or more of the following: Flow, light most likely or possibly too much gfo, carbon. General water parameters. Digi does enjoy a dirty tank for a sps tank, somewhat lower light.

It can't be gfo or carbon because I don't run either of them. I'm thinking it's the light but I'm running a 4 bulb t5 fixture and I thought on a 75 you should be running 6?

try a little more food, oyster feast in moderation is great. Or just some fine particle food. Lighting not a problem unless you are running them 14 plus hrs a day.

Yeah it looks rough. I've got a piece of orange digi that does best if low low in the tank, almost shaded. thats when it is its deepest orange and has the most polyp extension.

What are the specs of the tank, like someone has said already, digi like it dirty by SPS standards … What kind of flow? Lighting? What else is in the tank? Is it doing good? Is it looking rough as well?

We need more info than you've provided to help

Idk know off the top of my head. But it was kind of in an arrea with I guess I'd say lots of flow. With direct light. For lighting I run 1 coral+, purple+,blue+ And an actinic. I'd be running two blue+ but my LFS were sold out of them so I'm waiting for them to order them. I also have a red monti cap, green birdsnest, Hyacinth Birdsnest, elkorn monti, 3 different types of acans, 2 different types of plate corals, different types of hammer corals and an elegance coral. Everything is doing great except for the digi

I have had a digi explosion during my crash where all acros were stn/rtning and the Digi's were leveraging the excess nutrients. It looks like it has some bleached spots on the base and back so might be light shock. So I would do things in the following order.

1. Dip it in Bayer advanced.
2. Move it to a lower area in your tank with decent flow.
3. Check Alk and Ca and make sure it is optimal for me it is 9 and 440
4. Check NO3 and Po4 and make sure levels are .2 and .05 or lower.
5. Once established move up. I have digis in 200 par up to 1000 par so find a nice middle spot.

I'll have to go buy some dip then I've already moved him to a spot lower in the tank my worry now is I was gonna upgrade my jbj trinity 4 bulb fixture to a aquatic life 6 bulb will that make things worse or what?

Now that I think about it when I was bringing my salinity up I think I used a different salt. Could that be the cause?
