Hello All,

I just got this sweet starfish

Now I've been doing some reading and I know they do not do well in captivity. I also know they are specialized eaters. Phytoplanton and zooplankton. I'm currently setting up a 800cc
IV bag filled with tank water, 5 Table spoons of DT's and 4 scoops of Phytoplan. I then slow drip that right in front of it where ther current drifts right in it's direction.

I also every other day when I do feedings for every one else add 5 Table spoons of DT's and 4 scoops of the Phytoplan into the mix of frozen foods that just get's poured right in to the tank.
So does it sound like I'm on the right track, am I feeding it more than I need to be? Does it need to have the Drip set up every night? Cause the cost of DT's and Phyto Plan is going to rise real quick on me at this rate. Also what about oyster eggs, would they filter feed those as well? But if that is the case, then I will just have to suck it up and take care of it. I bought it. And yes the lfs let me know up front that they are very difficult to care for.

I think crinoids feed on bigger, "meatier" foods. This article suggests invertebrate larvae, microscopic animals, and unicellular eukaryotes:

Have you considered culturing rotifers and ciliates?
