I have had this nice little orange fungia for about 5 weeks now. It has short tenticles with little purple tips...pretty standard orange fungia. When I first got it the tenticles were out from the get go. After about 5 days I noticed they were not out anymore, even when feeding the tank cyclopeeze, mysis, arctic pods, etc...no feeding response. When I dump a load of mysis on the fungia it definately wolfs it all down by opening its mouth nice and big, puffing up a tad and a few tiny tenticles will emerge around the mouth to get the food in. Other than that I just dont see any tenticles ever anymore, night or day. The color and tissue are looking very healthy but thin, may be normal as this is my first fungia. I did notice a small 1/2" by 1/2" square on its underside that is white...like the tissue there has died and the skeleton is showing, the rest of the underside looks good. Just curious what you all think. I am keeping it in the rock work close to the bottom of my 2x2 LPS cube tank with pretty low flow and a single 250w MH bulb.
