Orange Laced Sponge (Clathria sp.) input.

Everyone....I am looking to buy this sponge from Bluezoo and have a few questions.

First off...does this species play chemical warfare and throw off toxins?

I plan to drip acclimate and place it my QT. One problem....I have a wrasse going through the TTM, and once it hits my QT, I dose 2 rounds of Prazipro once the fish is eating.

Does Prazipro have any negative affect on sponges when dosed.....esp. that Prazipro depletes O2 levels?

I have a ledge that would shield the sponge from bright light, and my tank gets good flow, so I am comfortable knowing it will do good in my DT.


Any input on this sponge would be really appreciated, esp. Since it's my first sponge. Thanks in advance.

Well the sponge was just drip acclimated, and is now in a newly setup 10g tank. I have 1 piece of LR from my DT, and some ceramic spheres taken from my QT HOB filter.

I am hoping this will be enough not to see a cycle. If not I will just dose some prime, keep up with water changes, and maybe add a piece of Marinepure ceremaic plate from my DT sump.

In terms of feeding.....hoe often does the sponge need to be fed with phytoplankton??
