Orange Monti Placement

I have 4x54w Tek lighting on a std 55g and was curious where I should place my monti? I've had it on the bottom for about 2 months, it shows nice color, but I think it could be brighter. Will moving it up help?

Thinks it over my friend, before you start to move the bugger. Later you ended like my which smothered other corals and soon you have to whack them. Now I made a frag which I had relocated it near the bottom with other color montis

+1 Just keep in mind they will get real big and start to create shades in your tank. If he is doing well, why move it? I had to learn the hard way :furious:

+2, I had to sell the LR that had montis encrusted on it.

Keep it at the bottom so it doesn't shade others. In a year or two you may need to frag off the largest plate which will be the bottom one. After a while you'll need to frag off the next plate up. This will result in the cap getting taller and growing up.

I put mine in the middle. Big mistake.
