just got home to see the skin of my orange coral coral is getting peeled off

its all fine and healthy till day before yesterday and i changed the flow to low flow as i read that they dont like high flow...(before this change its getting hit by a direct flow but is still doing good)

im soo worried is there a reason this might be happening ??

why am i always not being able to keep my favorite corals

The qquestion here is how to get this thing back to life and healthy again ..

I have one just like that. Mine did fine and then retracted and stayed that way for a month until I got to looking at it close and saw algea growing in one spot on its mouth. I I looked closer at it and it was a flat pice of shell or sand stuck in the grooves of its skeleton I pulled it out with twessers and buy the end of the day it was putting out its tentacles agin.

sometimes when you feed the plate mysis, hermits-shrimp-or snails can climb on to the plate and tear the plates flesh for the foods. I honestly have been told to not feed them because infection can and will kill a plate. JM2C

Ummm

an update the tear looked like its progressing so i fragged the plate as i mentioned and was able to save half of it ..

yea the shrimp might be a reason .. as soon as i put food for it my cleaner shrimp is all over it ..

thanks for the replies guys

When I spot feed mine I cover it with a plastic jar glued to a stick with holes drilled in it. That keeps everything off of it and I don't have to shut off my pumps.
