Orange Shoulder Tang Question?

Right now in one of my friends tank has a Orange Shoulder Tang and is close to having a year in the tank but insted of changing to the adult stage that is gray with orange line , it turned yellow with a light orange line.. has this happen to any body ??
when i get a photo i will post it as soon as i can.
