orange shoulder tang

I just bought a orange shoulder tang and he is tiny He is about an inch and i was wondering how long it will take before i see him starting to mature and changing colors. Also he is in a 75 gallon but only for a couple more weeks and then i am moving to a 180 gallon(upgrade tank) Also there will be a purple tang in there with him which is about 3-4 inches but i will add after i add the orange shoulder.

maybe some one that has had an orange shoulder could help a little by their expieriences?

Your 180g isn't going to be big enough. You may never see him fully devlop into a male due to this.

Mine matured from a very small to about 7 inches now in a matter of six months. I however feed a lot

they change to their grey on grey with the orange "shoulder" usually happens at 3-4 inches

during this past drop of baby fish i had some crazy small orange shoulders that were 100% juvenile (all yellow) and 100% adult (gray/brown with the orange shoulder) each of these were in the 3/4"-1" range. I also had juveniles in the 4-5" range.

so to answer your question - it is up to the fish
