How quickly do they grow? Are they difficult to frag? My son has one that I would love to frag, so that I can put it in my tank.

just depends on the coral..if its happy and healthy and getting food then it should grow for you..the 3 heads that got broke off my main colony now have 5 polyps..that was about 2 months ago...

Really nice looking coral.

Shellej---If its a true suncoral it will not open that much in the light . Try moving it to a lower light level to get it to open. Try to feed it cyclopeeze . If you can get a plastic container over it with a hole cut out of the top just add some into the container and it should open to start feeding. You can also remove it from the tank and put it into a container with cyclopeeze. This is a lot of work and disturbes it but should kick start its appetite If not just squirt it with a baster full of cyclopeezea few times. Hope this helps.

Hello All, hope you don't me adding a question here.

I just bought a frag with about 13 heads on it ranging from big to tiny newbies.

My question to you all is should I glue it to my live rock or place it on the sand bed in a good flow area?

My Sailfin Blenny has aleady knocked him over and luckily he fell onto the sand bed right side up.

Here's some pics, right now they are wedged between two rocks, where the blenny has already knocked over. What do I do?

I started my Sun on a piece of pvc, but have since moved it on top of a piece of rock. This way when it grows, it has something for the new polyps to expand on.

To feed it, I have 5" acrylic tube I put over it, this way the fish and shrimps don't bother it during it's meal.

Thanks Gates,

I glued my frag today on a small piece of live rock to anchor it for now.

Your sun coral is beautiful and absolutely full of polyps!

Now to figure out how often to feed, Daily or every other day...for now I'm doing it daily to fatten it up.
