Orange sun corals not doing so well.

Anyone know why my Orange sun coral isn't doing so well? All parameters are fine, I've got sps that are doing fine. I've also got a Black sun coral colony and a Dendro that are doing fine. I feed the Orange sun coral every day with fish eggs, but it just keeps on loosing flesh slowly after my tank crashed several months ago. It fully opens and eats the food. But, some times, I'd see a few polyps spit the fish eggs out. I don't have any pests eating it. Any help/info would be greatly appreciated!!

Hey Moses,

Please post a pic if you have one. How much flow you got on them? They could be stressed? NOt too sure please post a pic that always helps.

They are in good flow. Its not algae that's killing them tho.

Those guys don't look too bad. The tubes look to be puffy still. They look like they can recover. I'd feed them something meaty. I feed my black and orange sun coral PE Mysis every night. Tissue will start to grow back with new heads coming out the side. Good luck! :)

You can always try to feed cyclopeeze first about 20-30 mins before you feed and try Brine shrimp as well.

Are you areget feeding or broadcast feeding. I like to do both as it is more natural, but it does tend to use a bit more food. My fish love it though. I use a syringe 50 ml from the doctors that I requested, It works great, and holds alot.

Oh, okay.

I always target feed. Do you know how much fish eegs would be required to broadcast feed 2 small colonies of sun corals so they can get enough food? I'd go through half a pound of fish eggs a month. LOL

Well I guess that would be a lot of fish eggs. The best thing to do is to feed many different things, you would get board of eating the same thing every day too. You could always try to move it, or try feeding some other things. Mysis, brine, cyclopeeze, etc.
Good luck. I hope it gets better, and happy.

I got a sun coral I am bringing back from the verge of death that is in much much worse shape. It is making a come back (will do a thread with pics updated later). I would feed it a meaty item like what others have said. I feed mine mysis, arctic pods, and chopped small krill sometimes mixed with selcon.
