My buddy has one of these and it's sweet (like an orange fungia but with purple tips - and obviously a tongue coral), anyone ever seen one? I've seent he brown/green ones a ton... any other odd combos out there?

I have a green long tentacle plate with purple tips(Not a tongue though)(I don't know if you would consider it odd) You can only see the green and purple at night during the day its orange
Here's a pic during the day

That is the most common morph of heliofungia.

Chrissreef - I have seen one like that but with out the purple tips, sounds cool.

Haha very funny Drew.
Chris I told him today that you started a thread and here he is. Of course unfortunately he didn't post a pic of his tongue coral. It is sweet.

I made it a little mad when I went to move it in order to get a better pic, because it normally lives in a cave.

I don't think this is a tongue coral but instead a odd shaped orange fungia. Still very nice though; especially with the purple tips.

Looks like an orange plate. The dimensions are off though. Purple tips makes me think of an elegance...

It's definately a type of tongue. But plates and tongues are generally in the same family. However, this grows like a tongue and has the multiple mouths and ridges of a tongue.

You can get some SPS hybrids, maybe that's what happened?

or maybe this is how new species get created?

Or maybe it has cancer and turned orange

Anyone else have this? I just picked one up that looks just like that pic, maybe even a little better with more purple. I got it for a ridiculously low price too and can't find anything on the Internet. How much did you pay if you have one?

You've responded to a 7 year old thread.
How much you pay?
I usually see them for $75 or so?

Yeah I know it was 7 years old. It's that last time it was talked about on here, so figured I would revive it :) I paid $60 and its like 7" long. I have seen them online for $300, but if you see them for $75, guess that's the going rate these days
