got pics?

I have seen alot of the green and brown with purple/blue rims but I was looking around for caps last night and found one that was red/orange with purple rim.I have never seen one like it and was wondering if they are a common thing or what.

i have a the green with purple rim, and when under a 400w 10k it turned to almost orange, but the purple/blue rim got even more intense.

I'm growing out one that's currently jumping colors all over the spectrum from bloody reds to oranges to pink as I'm trying different frags under different lighting. No purple in it though, don't expect any either, infact I'm lucky that I managed to get this back from the dead.

I do have a green with purple rim one though :)

this is what I am talking about!!!!!I have never seen one before.

I really don't see purple in there, just the white growth looking purple from the lighting. imo.

You could be right, but they are calling it a purple edge monti cap.

I agree with that my green with purple rim looks almost blue with the right lighting. So I guess no one has anything like this?

all you need it bright light. i have been able to make any m. cap's edges turn purple or blue, based on placement in the tank along with quality growth. pink polyped cap, blue polyped cap, green polyped monasteriata, green w/red polyped confusa, digitatas, green cap, brown cap, red cap, same with most acros, fast growth + high placement= blue tips.

From what I understand the blue tips are a UV protection that coral puts in place to protect the new skeleton/flesh.
