Orbit Marine LED light settings

Hi, im really new to this hobby and recently bought a Orbit marine Led, not the pro one. So my question is. How should I set the light setting for this one? Ex. What time should it turn on/off. what intensity. I would really appreciate all the help. Thanks!

Since I didn't feel like reprogramming the fixture I just changed the time on it. I have it set 3-4 hours behind so that way the lights go off at 11 pm. I use m1.

I have a couple of these lights . They have been working well in my tank so far with the pre programmed settings. I have a few types of corals that have been growing on my live rock using them. I have been very pleased. It is already programmed with ramping. With appropriate settings for several types of tank set ups.

For fish only or shallow tanks (18" deep or less) with softie and zoas, these are OK fixtures.

Just note that they use leds running at 0.5 watts each and most brands of better fixtures use leds running at 2.2 to 3.0 watts per led. These fixtures look bright, but the PAR meter says they don't penetrate the water very well at all.

I'm running the same light on my 40 breeder. I use preset #3 and adjust the time to come on and off when I want. I have had good luck with SPS but I put them high up in the tank. Softies seem happy on the bottom so I'm thinking the PAR drops significantly with depth. I've added a T5 recently but only run it about 4 hrs per day. I don't dose anything and so far the corals are doing well. Set up about 1 year ago.

I run 2 of these over a 40 breeder and they will grow coral in a shallow tank .
