Orca has really made me made. I have seen a lack of organization and a huge disgust in the guy that shot the alligator. This ORCA needs to step it up. I am disgusted with it.

Threads like this make me mad.
Everyone needs and I mean NEEDS to understand that ORCA does NOT control this forum. REEF CENTRAL controls this forum. 98.78% of the time you see an inappropriate post this forum it isn't even by an actual ORCA member.
The things that ORCA does takes way more manpower and womanpower than most people realize. The current board is working at a level far above and beyond what could be expected. ORCA is truly better than ever and more people are putting effort into making it better than ever before. Anyone who's been around since the 2001-2003 era should be impressed with how far we have come. I know I am. For each administration moves this club forward making it better. From where I stand it seems likes it's a thankless job as far as the general population is concerned.
There's a saying that goes "Lead, Follow, or get out of the way" and I guess it applies quite a bit to this club. Putting on SRC has sucked up almost all of the effort that is put into this club so some other things have not moved forward very much. We do have our own board that we do control but that takes some effort that we haven't quite been able to get going. Some things take baby steps. Babies, maybe that's a word that can be applied.......

John, I don't think this was actually aimed at ORCA...but from some kid that got mad and started to spam all kinds of threads. Run his name through the search and you'll see some of the idiotic other posts he made...one talked about how he loved to kill his fish and fry them up and eat them. I applaud the RC staff for jumping in so fast and kicking him off. Also, they traced his IP and apparently know who it is, so I think it will stop. I haven't heard one person say anything but good about the new ORCA board members and the extraordinary job they're doing. This conference is a prime example...plus the meetings have exploded with new members. I think we just have to feel sorry for someone who has this mentality and realize that there are some that just need to draw attention to themselves in negative ways since they apparently don't have anything to offer in a postive format. ORCA RULES!!!

The person doesn't realize that his IP address has been linked to that ficticious name he just posted under. Essentially, if he tries to come back on to the boards under his real name, he may find that he's gonna have some troubles. People don't seem to understand that there is no anonymity in this wide web of the world

You really can't ban anyone that knows what they're doing from a system based on an IP address. First of all, if you have broadband like cable, then you know that your IP changes regularly (I've noticed that with RoadRunner, my IP changes every quarter). Secondly, anyone with knowledge of how a proxy works can basically "fake" your IP. I maintain/admin a website and its rather difficult to ban someone from my site permanently. I can do alot to discourage him/her, but if they have the patience they can get in and post away.
