I will try to upload a few pics (10) one by day? I got a new camera but have no idea on how to use it, still learning... So don't expect good pics...

Don't be so hard on yourself. You're off to a good start!

Orchids are beautiful.

Because your primary source of light is through the window behind your subject, your image is fairly backlit, which can provide some interesting results but leave the foreground dark. I do like how the pigmented veins in the petals are particularly pronounced.

Jesse recently posted an orchid pic in the daily shots sticky. It is more traditionally lit from the front, so the details in the petals are more obvious. It appears he used a bit of flash on it too. You might look at that to compare the effect of front versus back lighting.

Your composition is fairly centered, which is less interesting. A balanced asymmetry could be more visually engaging / intriguing.

Beware of out of focus objects in the foreground, such as the unopened bud on the left. They can be distracting. Another composition possibility would be to have turned the orchid so the arch of the flower stalk was parallel to the front of the camera, and then the entire bloom spray would be more in focus, if that is of interest to you.

Keep shooting and posting!

This is the pic he's talking about.

As mentioned, a flash was used. When I'm shooting an individual subject, I try to remove all other things that may distract from what I want to see. What may not be noticed in mine is there's actually four flowers in the pic. None are centered. Only one is almost a full flower. What I was thinking of was the textures and edges of the petals.
Take an object, set it on a table and look at it. Walk around it. Get lower, get higher. Really give it a good once over. Then pick up your camera and take a few shots. Post them so we can see them.

OMG it is beautiful! Thank you for posting it here! I'll do that experiment.
I take some pictures days ago with a light on the top, but I take them without the card (I forget it on my desk), so they saved on the camera and I don't know how to get them out.

I don't use flash, but the white leds kind of worked well... Or so I think... I also lean over a table so I didn't shake while taking the pics. I take them all at night, so it is very dark but the flowers are clear because of the lamp on top.

You should be able to connect the camera to your computer to remove them.

I tried! But it didn't read it... There was a misc folder and it was empty.
But I went and mounted the camera as a device and it work! I was afraid the camera would have issue or the format would get corrupted, but eevrything is working now... I just after that try to get creative and now all my pictures are green... I take some pictures with a bigger lens at the new species I add to my tank and they are green... I don't know... I guess... I just have to mess around with the settings or get them back to default :l
I will postt eh orchid pics soon!
Thanks for reply.
