Just got back from the airport about 2 hours ago, I picked it up about 30 minutes after it landed.
None of the rocks smelled bad so I just shwished them in some tank water and put them in. I found about 3 gorilla crabs.
Should I have done more to clean them?
Currently I have the bags floating. Hopefully I'll have pictures later.

crabs and mantis tend to hide till they think it's safe to come out.
you might want to keep an eye out for crabs and be ready to hold some rock in a tub of tank water ...
if you put a dead shrimp in one corner of a large tub of water and an air-stone at the far corner you will find crabs and the like will start going after it.... then pull out the rock and net the crabs and repeat... one way to trap them.

The "clam looking thing" is a flame scallop.

It likes low light, so wherever it goes leave it there. If you see it in a much worse condition try to move it inside of your cave. It'll look like a really good spot for it.

My first batch of rock had one rock with 3 sponges and a couple sections of barnacles on a couple. By the end of the cycle I lost the sponges and it appeared all but a couple barnacles are gone. I would see the little critter things inside floating around in the water... Almost like they jumped out.
The 2nd batch has more barnacles and more sponges. Hopefully I won't lose them.
What looks different on the rocks?
I did get a rock with Caulerpa which I didn't realize it grows like a weed... I'm going to pull that rock or try to get it all off. Not sure what I'm going to do but it's currently growing 3-4 inches a day.

it looks similiar to a bivalve mollusk we received in part 2. I think it might be called a jewel box clam, but i could be wrong

Love the flame scallop! I also like the rockscaping. Is the tank a biocube 24? If so, what are you using for filtration? I have a 14g biocube and I've got purigen next to the intake pump, chaeto in the middle chamber for a refugium, and the stock filter in the other compartment, but I'm considering something else there as well.
