Oregon Tort pics?

Hey Steve.. Can you post a pic of your Oregon Tort. The coral that was sold to me as an oregon tort looks difference from my Cali Tort and most of the pics posted on this thread seem to be Cali Torts.

Here it comes from one of two people that know the real story(me and shaun). Shaun received two frags of this coral around '93 atached to a piece of live rock. He kept one and gave one to me. He killed his. EVERY piece of Oregon tort out there is a daughter colony off of my coral. Soutas got his frags from me. He would actually send customers of his in to buy frags for him. My mother colony is about 9" x 6" and has probably been fragged three or four hundred times that is why it is not bigger or why I don't have a fleet of torts. I sell them as fast as I can frag them.
I have always told shaun that is good thing he gave me a piece of this coral or the Oregon blue tort would have never come about.

For those outside of Oregon have not been to Upscales, Total Droolfest:crazy1: I know I got dibs on a few pieces right Mr?:D

Hmmmm, looks like mine were 'mis-labeled' and 'misrepresented' too :mad2:
Glad I paid $60 for a 1" cali tort :(
I'll be placing an order with upscales for a true OBT just as soon as they get in another blue mille to come home with it;)
I have enjoyed all of these tort pics. This is the coral that got me into SPS. Once I saw a blue tort, I couldn't get that color out of my mind and tore down a 4 year old softy tank for the colored sticks!

Glad it's taking off! Slowly! I swear one of the frags of this is almost the size of my colony. :rolleyes: I guess he knows how to grow it out better than I do, but I've fragged mine a few more times than him. :)

This is one of my all-time favorite corals. It absolutely glows.
 
mine isn't blue like yours though. more yellowish but the blue is coming. i'm thinking since it is sooooo small still that is why. the color will come i'm sure

Maybe it's yellow since you're such a "Nancy-boy." :lol: j/k

It'll come around, and when it does, it'll be one of your favorites. I look at this coral more than the PM. :)
 
yeah i'm a nancy-boy as maxx called me :( oh well

i hope it comes around when it actually gets bigger. i'm starting prodibio this weekend so maybe that will help

i wish i HAD a PM to look at :D

Well, if you would have made it down in early April maybe you would have had one again. :) The next time you're in town, I'll be sure you leave happy. :)
