We have always been an admirer of ornamental shrimp, but besides your common ones it seems the US market does not receive many of these specimens.

Please post your unusual shrimp images and experiences.

Far from rare, but still beautiful we just picked up this large male Periclimenes brevicarpalis today. We're still on the look out for P. Pedersoni and P.anthophilus.

A couple of sites in florida sell pedersoni when they're available. Try sealifeflorida.com and ccritters.com.

Don't know if this would be considered rare. Its a non-hosting anemone shirmp. Urocaridella.

They get pretty big compared to other anemone shrimps. My two are 1 1/2 inches long.

No, even though I have two they don't seem to be ok near eachother and they are both aggressive towards eachother whenever they get near. I think I might have two males and thats why.

They are really neat though. the only bad side is that if they are not well fed, they tend to feed on my xenia polyps. But atleast they clean my fish. I'll update this if they do make any eggs because they are just starting to molt in my tank for the first time, and this is usually where eggs start out.

Hey speckled grouper, I HAD the exact same shrimp as your until today. Heres why:

I'm gonna try and put together a group buy in a few weeks with my locals fish club and see if I can get a few more. Intent is to see if I can get them to spawn and experiment with raising them
